The Salem Baptist Church of Jenkintown of Pennsylvania is in its third century of service to its members. Salem is not just a ‘Sunday’ church. It is known to be socially, politically and communally engaged in the activities of its members and the surrounding communites . Their outreach programs continue to feed the hungry and touch the lives of people around the world. This bronze plaque also acknowledges just a few of the notable individuals to speak from its pulpit. Reverand Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks spoke at the Church on numerous occassions.
Salem continues having a positive impact, making a difference through their heart felt service. The last line on this recognition plaque provides a glimpse into their vision and their spirit. “Salem is a place of peace.”
